Electric Ladyland, el tercer y lamentablemente último álbum de Jimi Hendrix Experience, lanzado a finales de 1968. El disco cautiva de principio a fin, dejando en evidencia la expansión musical de Hendrix con rock psicodélico de alto vuelo, experimentación que anticipa lo que seria el rock progresivo y Jimi haciendo hablar a la guitarra como solo él sabía hacerlo y tanto Noel Redding y Mitch Mitchell acompañando de gran forma.

Mas haya de los clásicos como el genial cover de “All Along the Watchtower” de Bob Dylan, “Crosstown Traffic”, “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” o “Gypsy Eyes”, Electric Ladyland nos ofrece otras joyas menos populares en el repertorio de Jimi como “Rainy Day, Dream Away”, “1983… (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)”,  “Burning of the Midnight”, “Still Raining, Still Dreaming”  y otro cover esta vez de Earl King “Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)”. El resto del disco acompaña con dos temas instrumentales “…And the Gods Made Love” y “Moon, Turn the Tides…Gently Gently Away” y otros menos logrados.

En conclusión como decía el gran Jimi, cada uno de sus discos te lleva a otra dimensión, no solo se tiene en cuenta la composición y el sonido. Por algo un artista con una carrera tan corta resulto tan influyente y no todo se trataba de su majestosa habilidad con la guitarra y sus recordadas presentaciones en concierto,  sino también por el sentimiento y emoción que se refleja en su música.
